Breathing Deeply to burn fat?

Thanx Steve for keeping me posted. As soon as the second book comes out I will get it. I think I mentioned before that I wasnt to crazy about the MCT training DVD.

I wanted to mention some research that Ive been doing…… I read a book called the acid-alkaline diet. Obvously the book is about pH foods. But the author also mentions if deep breathing excersces were introduced they could help bring pH level balance (Including diet ofcourse) Ive also read a few books on Elington Darden. Elington Darden specialty seeems to be using HIT for fat lose. He mentions a few methods the body burns calories coming from fat. He talk alot about using Superhydration too loose fat. Burning calories thru skin and breathing etc. So I did a search on the internet for the breathing aspect of it. I found a few books that I havent ordered yet. But I did buy one and Im almost done reading it, the book is by Greer Childers. Im a bit surprised by the book because there is alot of good info in it, even though it seems like a girly book(LOL) She says that performing arobics is all about breathing, increasing oxygen to the cells. So all the movents(running, jogging etc) is to get you to that point, to breathing deeply. So why not eliminate that part and go to the breathing directly. She recomends doing 15 mint of her breathing excersice in the morning on a empty stomach. She claims that this will burn more calories from fat becuase oxygen is need to burn fat, which no one can disagree. Alot of the info in her book is logical and reminds me of the stuff I read on HIT. There are also books that she mentions, The oxygen breakthrough by Dr Sheldon Headler and Super Power Breathing for super Energy by Paul Bragg. She mentions more books but these are the one′s im intrested in. What are you thoughts. Im also going to post this on the HIT forum as see what the guys overthere think.

I think this is a case of what I refer to as a MISINTERPRETATION of the SCIENTIFIC FACTS! I agree that FAT is burned in the body through a process called OXIDATION (in the presence of oxygen) and this happens all the time in the body whether you are awake or asleep. The ASSUMPTION that you can oxidize MORE FAT by just sitting there and perform DEEP BREATHING is rediculous! In fact to accelerate the OXIDATION process you would need to impose (increase) the stress demands on the body by exercising. In short it′s that ADDED STRESS (exercise) that creates a condition of OXYGEN DEBT thus making the body breath harder in an attempt to take in more oxygen. It′s a basic law of SUPPLY and DEMAND. The more DEMAND (exertion) the more SUPPLY(oxygen) would be needed.

About E. Darden′s SUPERHYDRATION technique, I think it has it′s merit. First it has been shown scientifically that DEHYDRATION could cause the metabolic rate to SLOW DOWN. Also if you read clearly his instruction on SUPERHYDRATION he recommend you to drink COLD WATER. This is crucial because it takes advantage of the body′s THERMOGENIC process (heat production).

Honk, your very welcome. Ive been doing my own reasearch on this subject. It goes beyond fat loose. I read these breathing tech. Can boost energy, improve immune system and there are many more health benifits…. Dr. Otto Warburg, who won a Nobel prize for discoverying the cause of cancer ( I belive it was in 1930) said that the one prime cuase of cancer is lack of oxygen to the system. Intresting ha!

NeuroMass, This a new intresting subject. I dont think it should be dismissed. You wrote "The ASSUMPTION that you can oxidize MORE FAT by just sitting there and perform DEEP BREATHING is rediculous! " When Arthur Jones, Mike Menzter and other HIT trainer, writers. Said that one set to failure was all that was needed many thought it was rediculous. Many to this day belive that many of the his concepts are reiculous.

Like I said above I will continue to research this subject. If you guys are intrested I will keep you guys posted.
