STARTING CONSOLIDATION ROUTINE ONCE EVERY 4 DAYS.

HELLO,

I am going to try the Consolidation routine work out (A) Squats and Bench Press (instead of dips) and work out (B) Deadlifts and Weight chins. I prefer compound movements over isolation exercises. I read on a Darden Hit forum that a guy had amazing success with the consolidation routine with only 4 days rest. Has anyone else tried this routine with only 4 days rest? I should I have 6 days of rest. Years ago I had amazing results with Mentzers ideal routine but developed celiac diease "wheat/gluten" allergy and lost 70lbs.

typo "or should I have six days of rest" Instead of "I should I have 6 days of rest"

once a week, so with 6 days recovery in between each workout are far better…

Mr heavyduty I will give that a try like what mike mentzer suggests, but are their guys who can recover in a shorter period of time? I am wondering if I am one of those.

HI MMAJAMES,

I think recovery time can and does vary among us all individually. For example,an 18yr old who sleeps 8-10 hrs a night will recover much faster than someone in their 30′s or 40′s who has the responsibilities of a home and a family and a physical job.If it interests you,try it every 4 days but keep a close eye on your journal to make sure you are getting stronger each workout. The only thing I would be concerned with training every 4 days would be overtraining the lower back with Squats and Deadlifts. You might want to try alternating leg presses instead of squats every few workouts,or perhaps do shrugs instead of Deads every 3-4 workouts. With all that being said.Keep in mind that you probably won′t lose any size/strength if you trained every 7 days.I can′t see someone losing strength/size in 2-3 days.
